Agricom.id, JAKARTA – The member of Commission IV, Indonesian Legislators, Daniel Johan agreed that kartu tani should be implemented in phase. He urged ministry of agriculture as the leading sector to develop the agriculture to socialize it intensively.

“We agree and would monitor the implementation. The most important thing is the subsidy runs well and right on time,” he said, Friday (28/8/2020), as in the official statement to Agricom.id.

He also thought that the directors of fertilizer companies in Indonesia should be responsible if the fertilizer distribution is postponed. He thought that the postponement would be the loss for everyone namely the farmers to produce.

“He should be in charge if the fertilizers are postponed to distribute because it could decrease the productivity. Besides, every director should be responsible to the farmers. The postponement could be billions,” he said.

In the previous, Chairman of Commission IV, Indonesian Legislators, Sudin said the same. He thought that kartu tani should keep running by making the work team. It means that ministry of agriculture and the legislators would cooperate to monitor the field work.

“Commission IV agreed to make the work team about the subsidized fertilizer,” he said in the meeting in the hall of Indonesian Legislators, Thursday (27/8/2020).

He also mentioned that from the meeting result, ministry of agriculture proposed to get the additional budget to 2021 subsidized fertilizers to the ministry of finance.

Besides, ministry of agriculture would do whole evaluation to the activities which had duplication and anything that had something to do with the small scale pilot projects, such as, the tertiary irrigation, the field school, the training or vocation.

Knowing this, Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo took every director of fertilizer in Indonesia to solve the subsidized fertilizer to develop the agriculture in the future.

“The agriculture has something to do with the good varieties, cultivation, and enough fertilizers. In this situation, every director of fertilizer companies, the officers, and the banks could really solve the issue,” he said.

Syahrul also thought that in the pandemic, it needs to work extra and extraordinary, namely when making or publishing policy. He mentioned that something should be done to solve the fertilizer issues.

“I want that the fertilizer issues have transparency one to another. Every element has its relation with the fertilizer and should be the powerful team to solve the issues,”

For information, referring to the Regulation of Ministry of Agriculture No. 10 / 2020, the subsidized fertilizer allocation in 2020 would be 7,94 million tons within the subsidy reaching Rp 26,62 billion. (A2)
