Agricom.id, PULANG PISAU – Chairman of Group in Village of Belanti Siam, Mujianto said that the areas in food estate are in crops. After they harvest, they would plant again.
“In these months in our group, our sixty members are ready to harvest. The program proposed by President Joko Widodo runs successfully and we are satisfied,” he said in Belanti Siam, Wednesday (03/02/2021) as in the official statement to Agricom.id.
He also told that the development in food estate program in his regions increased the production result.
“In my group, the production increased one to two tons in each hectare we cultivated. In the old days, we only harvested three to four tons. But now we could get five to six tons,” he proudly said.
Mujianto thought that the government should listen to what farmers suggested about the planting time knowing that the nature in Belanti Siam is a little bit different.
“I do believe that the result would be better. We do understand and know the nature. The government should support us,” he told.
Head of Village of Belanti Siam, Amin Arifin also clarified the issue about the fail harvest in his region.
“We see in person that the paddy overlay gets yellowish and some harvested in the first place. The result using agricultural tools could be 5 – 6 tons. It is not right if the issue claimed, we fail to harvest,” he said.
For information in October 2020, President Joko Widodo did first planting using mechanism in Village of Belanti Siam, Village of Pandih Batu, District of Pulang Pisau.
The government which now focuses to develop food estate claimed to be economic of scale – base and it runs in wider scale. It is hoped that food estate would strengthen food reserves nationally. In District of Pulang Pisau particularly, food estate is developed in about 10.000 hectare - areas. (A2)
