Agricom.id, JAKARTA – President Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi)emphasized that it needs to take the people of Indonesia to be in love to domestic products. If it is needed, express to hate foreign products.

President Jokowi told that when inaugurating the meeting in Ministry of Trade in 2021 in Istana Negara, Jakarta, Thursday (4/3). It proposed the theme ‘Perdagangan Sebagai Sektor Penggerak Utama Pemulihan Ekonomi Nasional’ 

“Campaigning to love the products of Indonesia and hating imported products are the statement to sorry for the digital product trade which is not fair to the micro, small, and medium business (MSMB). He also reminded that the digital trade has killed MSMB actors. That is why we have to defend, protect, and empower our MSMB actors to get the better class,” Minister of Trade, Muhammad Lutfi told, as in the official statement to Agricom.id.

Lutfi also mentioned that this is known from the displays in the modern shops in Jakarta and other big cities fulfilled with foreign famous brands. “We need to put the best spots for the domestic products to get the better class,” he said.

Lutfi also told, what President Jokowi told does not mean that we are not anti-import because President told tat Indonesia does not like protectionism. The history revealed that protectionism would be a loss. But we could not be the victim of unfair world giant digital trade. The digital transformation is the win-win solution for many sides.

“What President told should not be argued. We have to make this a spirit to encourage our local products, to increase the quality, and support everyone of us to love the local products,” he said. (A2)
