Agricom.id, LAMPUNG – Governor of Lampung, Arinal Djunaidi told that the big vision of the province would enliven the agriculture totally. It is even the same to the agricultural development nationally, including the food diversification locally.
He said that Lampung has lots of mainstays, such as, cassava as number one in the world, pineapple, cassava, banana, coffee, cocoa, beef cattle, hen, and egg.
“The agriculture is the main cantilever to the economy in Lampung. It is proved to maintain in the crisis like Covid-19 pandemic,” he said when launching Kartu Pertani Berjaya, Tuesday (6/10/2020) as in the official statement to Agricom.id.
As the province within agricultural characteristic, he mentioned that 70 percent of the people in Lampung earn their livings from the agriculture. They mostly work in the field, yard, livestock, and fishery. Since in the beginning, the provincial government of Lampung prioritized the agriculture as the program to increase the economy.
For information, ministry of agriculture gave helps - 1000 cows to Lampung, paddy seeds covering 1.161 hectares (ha), yard rehabilitation, four wheel – tractors, and kredit usaha rakyat within the total helps Rp 208,245 billion.
Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo did appreciate Lampung as the biggest provider of food nationally. It was the 6th highest paddy producer in 2019 in Indonesia.
“During the pandemic, the agriculture positively developed 16,24%. The exports run well up to Rp 258 billion. This is the promising and profitable sector,” he said. (A2)
