Agricom.id, CENTRAL LAMPUNG - Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL), Governor of Lampung, Arinal Djunaidi, and Vice Governor of Lampung,  Chusnunia Chalim did launched Kartu Petani Berjaya (KPB) in Village of Tempuran, Sub district of Trimurjo, District of Central Lampung, Tuesday (6/10/2020).

SYL also gave insurance - Polis Asuransi Usaha Tani Padi (AUTP) in January -September, covering 19.230,45 hectares (ha), and kredit usaha rakyat (KUR) from BNI for about Rp 7 million, and KUR Mikro BRI about Rp 50 million, and KUR regional bank for about Rp 20 million.

SYL strictly encouraged Kartu Petani Berjaya. This would be integrated with KUR and could be used to get fertilizers.

“What Lampung has done is the right one and it has future vision. If it is about to see a good region, take a look at the agriculture. The agriculture in Lampung is not for Lampung itself, but for the nation,” he said, as in the official statement to Agricom.id.

SYL also mentioned that of all sectors, the agriculture developed 16,24% in Covid-19 pandemic. The exports did the better.

“In this condition, Kartu Petani Berjaya could be the answer. This card is the same with the hashtag of agriculture, ‘the farmers should go forward, independent, and modern. This card is the answer of what the farmers need of,” he said.

SYL also urged that the agriculture should be the main focus in the province and every side should support. He thought that the big vision should be crystalized and be the same vision to present the better, more independent, and modern agriculture.

In the other place, General Director of Agriculture Infrastructure, Ministry of Agriculture, Sarwo Edhy did appreciate the launching of Kartu Petani Berjaya.

“By the card, we all should encourage the farmers’ economy. If the farmers are better in economy, we hoped to get the increasing production,” he said.

He also hoped that the card would give easiness for them.

“The farmers need access easily by the card. The goal is about to support the production,” he said.

Governor of Lampung, Arinal Djunaidi said that the agriculture is mandated to fulfill the food needs. Lampung has kinds of commodities, such as, corn, paddy, cassava, pineapple, banana, coffee, and others.

“As the agricultural locomotive nationally, the agriculture in Lampung should be able to welfare the farmers to get the better agriculture, increasing production, and economy. One priority is the Kartu Petani Berjaya,” he said.

He thought that the card would have many advantages. It could be the infrastructure to the production, access, fund, harvest and post-harvest management, marketing, social insurance, agricultural education guarantee for the successful farmers.

“We intentionally chose Trimurjo as the location to launch because it would be the seeding center to fulfill the seed needs in the southern Sumatera. The farmers who got the card reached 18.277 men,” he said. (A2)
