SYL Supports KPB Lampung: The Evidence of Modern, Independent and Better Agriculture in Indonesia

Agricom.id, LAMPUNG - Ministry of agriculture supports Kartu Petani Berjaya (KPB) which the provincial government of Lampung proposed to fulfill the agricultural infrastructure needs. The program could develop the economic power widely and increase the farmers’ income in agriculture-base.

Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo who attended the launching of KPB thought that it is the right one to support the food security nationally.

“We would support the program as the agricultural development program in the future. KPB represents ‘hashtag’ of ministry of agriculture, which is, the better, more independent, and modern agriculture’,” he said, as in the official statement to Agricom.id.

In general, KPB would give huge advantages, such as, the certain subsidy and non-subsidy of fertilizer, superior seeds, and other infrastructures.

He also thought that the guarantees are the evidences that the country exists to develop the agriculture nationally. One characteristic of a developed country is by knowing that the agriculture goes better.

“The launching of KPB is the answer to increase the farmers’ economy. I do hope that Lampung could focus to the agriculture and every element should help the big vision,” he said.

Governor of Lampung, Arinal Djunaidi said that KPB is the program designed to empower the farmers to get easiness in their cultivation. He continued that the farmers should be able to fulfill their production infrastructures, modal access, insurance, and the post-harvest handling.

“The farmers should have guarantee of selling their products which should be profitable, social guarantee, and scholarship to their well- educated children. This would be given in phase,” he said.

He also mentioned that Lampung also has mainstay commodities to be developed and to export, such as, corn, cassava, pineapple, banana, cocoa, coffee, cow, hen, and egg.

“We do hope that by the mainstay commodities, we could enliven the economy in this province both in the recovery time of Covid-19 pandemic and in the future,” he said.

For information, ministry of agriculture also gave helps to the province, such as, 10oo cows, paddy seeds covering 1,161 hectares, yard rehabilitation, four vehicle – tractors, and KUR. The total help reached Rp 208,245 billion. (A2)
