Agricom.id, JAKARTA – The acceleration of food diversification keeps running as the way of th government to provide food in the pandemic. One of it is by presenting the local food products so that the people easily get.
“We ease the people’s access to the local food, such as, by making pojok pangan lokal in every provincial pasar mitra tani/TTIC,” Agung said, Wednesday (04/11/2020) as in the official statement to Agricom.id.
He thought that this is part of food diversification. Pojok pangan lokal in each province would give option to the people to consume kinds of local products within nutrients.
“If it is easy to access, of course, it would increase the people to consume local food,” he said.
He also mentioned that based on the food diversification roadmap, the rice consumption trend would be 10,4 % until 2024.
“If the local food consumption as carbohydrate source of non-rice increases, the rice consumption would be decreasing. The people would not depend on one commodity only because we have kinds of food,” Agung said.
In Pasar Mitra Tani Pasar Minggu, pojok pangan lokal provided kinds of local food, both in the frozen and processed products.
Santi, one buyer told that she knew pojok pangan lokal from the information in front of pasar mitra tani.
"I wondered what pojok pangan lokal was. But I found frozen cassava. This is good to be the breakfast, substituting rice,” she said.
Food diversification, as what Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo told in many occasions, is one focus of the government to provide food in the pandemic. He thought that it needs to advantage the potential and kinds of food sources.
The focuses to be developed are cassava, taro, corn, sago, coconut, and potato by increasing the local food, access, education, and promotion. (A2)
