Agricom.id, JAKARTA - Minster of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) urged that the synergy among the governments keeps increasing. This is about to ensure the safe and under control food needs for the people.

He also mentioned that the government has intervened the subsidized fertilizers, and prepared the superior seeds that could increase the production in the future.

“I do hope that every governor, regent, mayor, head of village could immediately prepare the food stock in each level. The most important thing is that the food stock should start from each house. It means that if anything happens, each family could fulfill their own food,” SYL said, Tuesday (10/11/2020) as in the official statement to Agricom.id.

He also thought that the government ensured that the food needs by the end of this year would be in good condition. It is known from the early production in this year and the planting acceleration from every side, including the farmers in Indonesia.

"We did the food planting acceleration and the fertilization just like the farmers asked for. We are preparing the first planting of 2020 to 2021,” he said.

For information, food production (rice) is about 31 million tons. The numbers are over stocks about 7 million tons.

On the other hand, Ministry of Agriculture, Indonesian Republic starting since October 2020 prepared the materials for 2021. It is predicted that 17 million tons would be in crop in March 2021.

The government keeps preparing other 11 daily needs, such as, corn, onion, garlic, big red chili, cow or buffalo meat, hen, egg, sugar, and cooking oil.

“Once again, I ensure that the food needs in this year are under control,” he said. (A2)
