Agricom.id, SERPONG - Ministry of Agriculture, Indonesian Republic keeps implementing the modern agricultural system by the touch of technology and mechanism. The ministry even planted (commodity) in artificial intelligent within weather supervision and good planting method.

About this, , Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) is optimist that the technology in agriculture would fast develop. Modernization is the sign of 4.0 agricultural preparedness. In addition machines and tools are massively used in each production process.

“I do believe that our preparedness in phase could take our agriculture into the better mechanism,” SYL said when visiting machines and sophisticated tools of agriculture in Balai Besar Mekanisasi Pertanian, Serpong, Tuesday (10/11/2020) as in the official statement to Agricom.id.

He did hope that in the future the agriculture could get better support from many sides. In this case, it needs cooperation among industries to accelerate and support the agricultural development implementation.

“Whatever it takes, the agriculture is the pillar of economy of our nation which we need. To accelerate it, we need the better mechanism,” he said.

He continued that Balai Besar Pengembangan Mekanisasi Pertanian Pertanian (BBP Mektan) has ability to create the sophisticated and modern agricultural machine prototype but it should prioritize the local potential.

“This agency is needed to know a progress, challenge, and development of era namely to intervene the mechanism to do effectiveness of agricultural acceleration,” he said.

For information, BBP Mektan revised the equipment in Laboratorium Disain dan Rekayasa in computer mumerical control (CNC) – base to balance the agricultural system tools in the world. Besides, laboratory of test in BBP Mektan also has laboratory test facility of four vehicle – tractor (within capacity up to 200 horse power), two vehicle – tractor, irrigation water pump (up to 10 inches of pump diameter), sprayer, and laboratory of post-harvest agricultural tools.

In the last three years, the agricultural tools which have been tested cover 286 units in 2018; 325 units in 2019; and in January - November 2020 covering 233 units. (A2)
