CBS in October: Exports in Agriculture Increased 23,8 Percent Y o Y

Agricom.id, JAKARTA – Central Bureau of Statistic (CBS) revealed that the agricultural exports in October 2020 positively increased reaching USD 0,42 billion or 1,26 percent (month to month) compared to the previous year. It happened for the better economic progress in many countries.

It did too in year on year (y on y) which reached 23,80 percent.

Deputy in Service and Distribution Statistic, CBS, Setianto told that the biggest non – oil and gas exports from Indonesia were to China, the United States of America, and Japan.

“One thing for sure, non-oil and gas exports took part about 95,03 percent of the total export in January - October 2020. 11,38 percent of them derived from agriculture,” he said, Monday (16/11/2020).

In the previous, CBS released that the agriculture was in progress about 2,15 percent (y on y). It happened for the contribution of food commodities, such as, palm oil, and soybean in the world trade in the third quarter which increased quarter to quarter or (y on y).

Sutianto said that CBS also noted the trade balance surplus in Indonesia reaching US$ 3,61 billion (m to m) in October 2020. The realization was higher than the surplus which reached US$ 2,44 billion in September 2020 and surplus US$ 161 million in October 2019.

In total, the trade balance in Indonesia was surplus US$ 17,07 billion in January -October 2020. It was better than the deficit US$ 2,12 billion in January - October 2019.

"The surplus increased well because Indonesia decreased the imports while the factors to increase the exports were animal fat and oil,” he said. (A2)
