Agricom.id, JAKARTA - Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) encouraged that every field officer could have ability and capability to know the agro-climate challenges to accelerate the food security nationally. SYL said that when giving direct speech in Lokakarya Perhimpunan Penyuluh Pertanian Indonesia (Perhiptani), Tuesday (24/11/2020).

"I want that in the future, every field officer (counselor) has the better capability. This is important so that every one of us could manage the new challenges, including the agro-climate. That is why master the technology,” he said, as in the official statement to Agricom.id.

SYL thought that Perhiptani could be the locomotive namely in agriculture in Indonesia to realize the sustainable agricultural development within the better, more independent, and modern concepts. SYL said that his side has prepared Komando Strategi Pembangunan Pertanian (Kostratani) and it directly connects to central data in Agricultural War Room (AWR).

"Kostratani is very important because we could see the broken connection in agricultural distribution and could stop the supply chain which could be the loss for the farmers,” he said.

SYL also emphasized that the agriculture is the important sector and could improve the economy nationally because of the long term crisis of Covid-19 pandemic. He also mentioned that the agriculture developed in the third quarter reaching 2,15 percent. In the first and second quarter, the agriculture also positively developed.

The agricultural exports from Indonesia in January - September reached Rp 304.57 billion or increased 10,12 percent. The exports were the highest in the last seven years.

“We could realize other achievement. That is why I am doing my best that in 2021 every agricultural element could use the modern ways to increase the productivity,” he said. (A2)
