Agricom.id, BENGKULU - Governor in duty of Bengkulu, Dedy Ermansyah took everyone to involve in developing the agriculture in the province. He thought that it needs synergy among the related agencies and institutions so that the agriculture could effectively run.
“I take everyone in Bengkulu Province to be together and focus to do this noble work. We are the unity to make Komando Strategi Pertanian (Kostratani) in the sub district as the key of synchronization and acceleration of to develop agriculture,” he said when being with Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL), Thursday (3/12/2020).
It is reasonable. Dedy thought that the agriculture has the strategic roles to fulfill the food needs, hire many workers, be the source of income and welfare of the people. The agricultural development should give impacts not only to the farmers and other businessmen but also to the food security and regional economy.
“The agricultural development has something to do with the politics and security nationally to guarantee the synergy and unity in every line to focus and realize the targets,” he said, as in the official statement to Agricom.id.
Dedy also said that this should be the moment to increase the production. Bengkulu just got the food plantation allocation, such as, hybrid paddy seed for about 21 thousand hectares (ha), hybrid corn for 18 thousand ha, and 2 units of post-harvest tools.
Besides, Bengkulu got help for new planting area expansion or perluasan area tanaman baru (PATB) for paddy covering 4.100 ha. The plantation sector got the allocation to do rubber replanting covering 200 ha, and unit pengelolaan hasil (UPH) for coffee (3 units).
"The production should increase 7 percent in every single year. To support it, it needs to minimize loses from 12 percent to be 5 percent. By the increasing production, it is hoped that there would be better chances to export the food commodity,” he said.
In the same spot, Minister SYL emphasized that the agriculture is the source of life for the people. It is proven to survive in any crisis.
“If we want to increase the welfare of the people and improve the life, please improve the agriculture at first,” SYL told. (A2)
