Agricom.id, JAKARTA – It is proven that agricultural products are the best economic sectors now. One sub sector contributing to the economy is horticulture. This is known from the increasing fruit and vegetable demands.
Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo noticed the two commodities and encouraged to strengthen the family economy.
The campaign about loving fruits and vegetables of our country as the natural immunity provision, is successful enough. The increasing vegetable and fruit demands triggered the businessmen and farmers. The lack of imported fruit is the right moment for the local fruit to sell more.
Since it was founded four years ago, Kontak Bisnis Hortikultura Indonesia (KBHI) now becomes the bridge for the farmers and the consumers. Many do not know still about horticultural product information. KBHI is about to give chance to the farmers. Together with General Directorate of Horticulture, Ministry of Agriculture, it is hoped that there would be sharing information and cooperation (partnership) among the businessmen namely to maintain continuity of supply and quality.
Director of Horticulture Harvest Marketing and Management, General Directorate of Horticulture, Ministry of Agriculture, Bambang Sugiharto told that the farmers and the businessmen could adapt through online market in the digital era.
“General Directorate of Horticulture has canal at http://hortitraderoom.com and Indonesia Map of Fruit Center (IMofc) and they are free. I-Mofc for special could be downloaded by phone cell. The buyers or suppliers could take it for advantage so that every information and trade are profitable. It is about to make partnership among buyers, suppliers, and KBHI to complete and perfect horticultural data nationally,” Bambang said, as in the official statement to Agricom.id.
On the other hand, District of Banyuwangi is the only district in Indonesia that could control inflation. Banyuwangi could minimize the poverty from 40% to be 7,2% and developed the local fruit too, such as, dragon fruit, banana, durian, and their derivative products. The district also develop the micro, small, medium businesses.
“We often do event and festival in every single year that many domestic and international tourists are interested in. We have our own appeal to every product to offer. The business forum with KBHI, and the support of the government should be able to develop horticultural regions in District of Banyuwangi,” Head of Agriculture and Food Agency, District of Banyuwangi, Arief Setiawan said some time ago.
Chairman of KBHI, Ilud Maulud told that the members of KBHI does profitable partnership one to another. KBHI claimed to be ready, help, and in synergy with agriculture ageny with potential and mainstay in each region.
“Such as, every potential commodity which is not well managed, such as, pisang kayu, pisang lempeneng, pisang raja, pisang kepok merah, red durian, red jackfruit and others. KBHI is the partner of government to support the programs and activity developed by General Directorate of Horticulture, Ministry of Agriculture,” Ilud said.
II Chairman of KBHI, Jodi H Iswanto told that KBHI also is the place to share information for the horticultural businessmen.
“It is hoped that every issue would have solution which the members of KBHI and horticultural businessmen face. In the future, it is also hoped that many millennial farmers could involve in increasing and developing agriculture sustainably,” he said.
The farmers also hoped that KBHI could buy their production, namely from the fund helps from the government as the stimulant.
We do hope that KBHI could absorb and sell our products and ask for promotion and marketing supports to our organic products for we sustainably produce them,” a farmer, Rukiyan said. (A2)
