Agricom.id, JAKARTA - Ministry of Agriculture Indonesian Republic starting from 2020 actively promoting Agro Edu Wisata (AEW) program. At least there have been 100 locations of AEW and 17 of them would be the targets to be developed sustainably in 2020 by General Directorate of Horticulture.
AEW is the acceleration of economy nationally in Covid-19 pandemic by doing agricultural business which is elaborated by tourism sector. This is the lead from Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) to boost the economic progress.
Kebun Agrowisata Cilangkap is on Jalan Raya Cilangkap No. 45, East Jakarta. It is about 19,5 hectares belonging to the government of DKI Jakarta managed by Agriculture, Marine, and Food Security Agency.
General Director of Horticulture, Ministry of Agriculture, Prihasto Setyanto in his visit by the end of 2020 did appreciate the government asset when Jakarta keeps growing.
“The location is the place of technology dissemination to accelerate adoption of technology to the people,” he said, as in the official statement to Agricom.id.
As the center to develop seed and protect the plantations, he continued, it also introduces kinds of genetic natural resources and plants.
“The people need to know it. Let us introduce it through tourism. We could also find the specific plantations of Jakarta. This is full of education,” he said.
Anton also told that this kind of model should be replicated in other regions. He also reminded to do environmental plants disease organism control, such as, fruit flies. Besides it, he also suggested that the in the area of AEW there should be bio-pore, inspiring quotes, and water management technology, such as, advantaging drip irrigation.
In the visit, he also released fish to a lake and harvested yellow melon, and banana in tissue method.
This is the same with integrated farming system that Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) now develops. It is the integrated agriculture with fishery, and livestock in one region (area) heading to better, more independent, and modern one in the pandemic situation.
Head in duty of Agriculture, Marine, and Food Security Agency, Suhartini Eliawati said that DKI Jakarta has 14 seeds plantations in five cities. This is one of them, AEW Cilangkap. The others are helped by General Directorate of Horticulture, Ministry of Agriculture to develop AEW in 2020.
“Kebun Bibit Cilangkap would be promoted and supported to be the mainstay destination in East Jakarta. It was introduced as seeds area (kebun bibit), but now it is introduced as agroeduwisata. There are agriculture, education, and tourism in it. The visitor would be happy and enjoying their time when being here,” she said.
She also mentioned that Kebun Bibit Agroeduwisata Cilangkap has some facilities, such as, sport arena, jogging track and play ground. Around the area, there is a lake for the visitors to fish. They also could run or taste kinds of food while breathing the morning day and the cool wind.
“There are many interesting photo spots here, like lake, sere house, hydroponic, and collection of trees. These could be the alternative tourism spot. No need to go further for we have the schedules in one year,” Elly said.
The area has function to cultivate plants and hydroponic centers. The visitors could seed kinds of plantations, such as, rambutan, mango, longan, star fruit, avocado, durian, bisbul, melon, banana, and artificial plants which grow well.
The other advantages in the pandemic like now is that the people could propose to get seed online to Agriculture, Marine, and Food Security Agency through http://openstreetmap.id/dkpkp. The seeds would be sent by delivery cost from those who proposed.
