Agricom.id, KOTAWARINGIN BARAT – Ministry of agriculture keeps preparing to implement kartu tani. In Kotawaringin Barat (Kobar), more than 11 thousand kartu tani were distributed to the farmers because it would be implemented in 2021.

Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) thought that kartu tani should be maximally prepared. “Our target is that next year, the implementation of kartu tani would be effective in each region. We do the best in the transition. We do hope that the farmers understand the usage of kartu tani and there would be no issue when it is running,” he said, Tuesday (29/9/2020) as in the official statement to Agricom.id.

General Director of Agricultural Infrastructure, Ministry of Agriculture, Sarwo Edhy told that in the transition, the farmers should know the usage and advantage of kartu tani. “The subsidized fertilizer would be distributed in different ways, from the manual to be using kartu tani. This would make the distribution right on target. If the farmers do not know the mechanism, we hope that they could immediately find out. We do believe, the distribution (of fertilizer) would be right on target,” he said.

He also said that kartu tani has many advantages. “The distribution of subsidized fertilizer by kartu tani would be the first thing only because it has lots of usage. The government could distribute other helps by kartu tani, and many more.  The farmers’ rights on the infrastructures could be well facilitated and right on target,” he said.

Head of Plantation, Horticulture, and Food Plantation Agency, District of Kotawaringin Barat, Kamaludin said that the kartu tani would be distributed in phase based on the preparedness of each group.

He thought that kartu tani which would be integrated to the government’s bank account has nothing yet and could be used next year. “Kartu tani would be used on 1 January 2021. It is about the distribution by making electronic data captured in each official store to distribute the subsidized fertilizers,” he said.

He also mentioned that kartu tani would be essential for the farmers because the helps from the government, both the seeds, fertilizers, or other infrastructures should be synchronized with the card. (A2)
