Agricom.id, MEDAN – Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) encouraged the exporters to export the agriculture products in the processed ones. He told that to increase the additional values and competitiveness of the agriculture products from Indonesia.

“We take the exporters not to export the raw materials. We hope that you could learn to export the processed ones,” he said when releasing the agricultural products and Gerakan Tiga Kali Ekspor (Gratieks) in Kawasan Industri Medan, (20/2/2020), as in the official statement to Agricom.id.

He thought that ministry of agriculture, the banks, and the regional govenrments are ready to give full support to the exporters in the form of kredit usaha rakyat (KUR). He is optimist that the agricultural development in North Sumatera could increase. This is known and confirmed from the export data from the province which reached Rp. 26,6 billion in 2018 and increased in 2019 about Rp. 32,2 billion.

“I am very happy that today the many exporters come and want to get KUR. I have asked for the governor to facilitate it. We need the strong energy including from the regional government to encourage our agriculture commodities in the export scale,” he said.

He also mentioned that as the tropical country, the agriculture in Indonesia has the big potential to compete and win the trade in the world. This is proved by the North Sumatera which succeeded to export 28 agricultural commodities reaching Rp 79,6 billion to 28 countries.

“Today we are here to prove that the agriculture exports are the promising ones. Today I convince our agricultural products. The swift nest could be in China. This proves that in any condition, the world needs our agriculture products,” he said. (A2)
