Agricom.id, SORONG – The good cooperation between the central and regional government is the main key to realize the development goals. Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo told that in the Temu Tugas Peneliti, Penyuluh Balitbangtan dan Pemda Propinsi Papua Barat in Hotel Belagri, Sorong, Wednesday (26/2/2002).

The two period - former governor of Southeast Sulawesi thought that it needs absolute collaborative work and synergy of institution.

"Research and innovation that the researchers develop should be implementative so that the field counselors could increase the production, quality, and competitiveness of our agriculture commodities,” he said, as in the official statement to Agricom.id.

He also thought that the harmony should be well maintained for it would give the better things to the farmers to resonance their welfare and make the comparative mainstay in the Kostratani.

“Besides to realize the better, more independent, and modern agriculture, Kostratani is hoped to make Papua inclusive and sustainable,” he said.

Meanwhile the Governor of Papua Barat, Dominggus Mandacan said that the province has lots of potential in the food plantations, such as, paddy, corn, soybean, cassava, and sweet potato.

“Besides the horticulture commodities, such as, matoa, langsat, breadfruit, passion fruit have good potential to develop,” he said.

The former regent of Manokwari hoped that the agricultural development in the province could be integrated from the upstream to downstream sectors by maintaining the local wisdom.

“We are really committed to realize the food security, such as written in Nawacita and the future would have industrial connectivity, enrich the derivative products which are export oriented,” he said. (A2)
