Agricom.id, JAKARTA – Holding PT. Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) Panen Gula Perdana 2020 through the sugar factory, Sei Semayang which is managed by the subsidiary of PTPN II - pabrik Sei Semayang is operating again since it was in-active in 2014. The sugarcane has been planted and now it is in productive.
The ceremony of the re-operational of the sugar and drilling factory for the first time was witnessed by Director of Marketing, Holding PT. Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN), Dwi Sutoro; Director of PTPN II, M Iswan Achir; and Vice Governor of North Sumatera, Musa Rajeckshah; and the officers of District of Deliserdang in Binjai, North Sumatera, Tuesday (25/2/2020).
Director of Marketing, Holding PTPN III, Dwi Sutoro was grateful for the revitalization of the sugar factory for it has been vacuum for five years. He said that the factory would be the optimism to increase the sugar production nationally.
“We hope that the re-operational of the sugar factory should have the special attention so that it sustainably operates,” he said, as in the official statement to Agricom.id recently.
Director of PTPN II, Iswan Achir said that the by the productive process, he is optimist that the sugar factory could operate well based on the plan. “Let us develop together, and return our same ideas in the future,” he said.
He also explained that the sugar factory once stopped the operational because of the material was out of target. But it is better now because sugar is planted in the 8.500 hectare areas. "We have 8.500 hectares of sugar cane. The result could reach 76 tons of sugar cane. By the re-operational of Sei Semayang sugar factory, it is worth that the sugar cane should be planted in 11 thousand hectares," he said.
But PTPN II still has issue to realize the target because lots of the people cultivate the areas.
“We need support to realize it to operate the factory well. We targeted that the first drill would fulfill the sugar in this province. We do hope that PTPN Group could give the best to the people of North Sumatera and nationally,” he said, accompanied by Director of Production, Marisi Butar-Butar; Director of Commerce, M Arwin Nasution; and the Commissioner of PTPN II, Andi Siahaan.
"The Sei Semayang has 4.000 tons of sugar cane. In the first phase, PTPN II would drill about 3.500 tons of sugar cane within 245 tons of sugar (the production)," he said.
Vice Governor of North Sumatera hoped that the re-operational of the factory could support the business and fulfill the needs of sugar to the people. “If it could, the (selling price) should be less than nowadays price,” he said. (A2)
