Agricom.id, JAKARTA - Ministry of Agriculture did bazaar by releasing the operational cars of food that were transported to 10 markets in DKI Jakarta from Toko Tani Indonesia Center (TTIC), Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, Thursday (19/3/2020).

Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo said that the bazaar was about to stabilize the price when most people may be in panic buying.

"The President ordered this for every one of us. We have to help each other. Ministry of agriculture and with the partners face the corona virus (Covid-19) from everything that may influence the people,” he said, as in the official statement to Agricom.id.

He continued that the ministry of agriculture would penetrate the markets together with the partners to tell the people that the government guarantees the food stocks in cheaper price.

Meanwhile, Head of Badan Ketahanan Pangan, Ministry of Agriculture, Agung Hendriadi told that the bazaar was in cooperation with Perusahaan Daerah Pasar Jaya.

"The bazaar was done in 10 markets in Jakarta, they were, Pasar Glodok, Pluit, Johar Baru, Gondangdia, Metro Atom, Kalibaru, Tebet Barat, Jembatan Merah, Rawa Badak, and Kalideres to fulfill the food stocks – sugar, egg, and rice. Ministry of agriculture was in cooperation with the association and groups of farmers.

One association involved in was Aslupama (Asosiasi Lembaga Usaha Pangan Masyarakat) West Java. It supplied 15 tons of rice within about 8.500/kg.

"Aslupama West Java is ready to participate, maintain the stocks of food, such as, rice, union, and chili to Jakarta to stabilize the price and stocks,” Chairman of Aslupama West Java, Agus said.

One man who came to TTIC, Zuhri, the people of Kebagusan (54 tahun) got the advantage from the bazaar in TTIC. He thought that the food stocks in TTIC were stable, cheaper, and qualified.

"Normally, my wife does shopping. But it is my turn now. Trading in TTIC has the good price. We have the cash, there would be description about the price and what to buy,” he said.  (A2)
