Agricom.id, CILEGON – When the economy is flagging because of corona virus (Covid-19) epidemic, the agriculture export is still positive. One sample of the progress is the export of 126 tons of corn gluten meal (CGM) to Vietnam.

“Technically, the exports have fulfilled the conditions in Vietnam. We also give facility to certification service,” Head of Karantina Pertanian Cilegon, Raden Nurcahyo said in his office in Cilegon, Banten, as in the official statement to Agricom.id.

The Phytosanitary Certificate (PC) was given after the 1 billion export product passed the check and phytosanitary quarantine.

Just the same policy published by minister of agriculture to increase the agriculture exports by giving the facility and fast service, Karantina Pertanian Cilegon did the check service in the inline inspection.

The service, besides to accelerate the stuffing, is also about to increase the accuracy of check so that the certification process could run fast and accurate and increase the competitiveness of the commodity to export.

He thought that there are many countries to export the commodity, besides Vietnam, they are, Thailand, and India. CGM is the waste of corn deriving from the wet milling which could be used to the corn flour and syrup.

“It is fresh yellow and fresh chocolate powder. In general, it is used as thee woof within the ingredients, energy, nutrients, amino acid, xantophyll, vitamin, and mineral,’ papar Raden.

The export certificate data of the product in 2019 reached 5,5 thousand tons within about Rp 22,9 billion. “It is admitted that because of Covid – 19, the volume decreases now,” he said. (A2)
