Agricom.id, JAKARTA – The agriculture is the important sector and needs good stimulus when the pandemic because of corona virus (Covid-19) hits many countries including Indonesia.

The productive agriculture would guarantee the food procurement for men and there would be no social or economic disturbances.

“In order to keep the price stable, economic, the farmers in the villages harvest productively, and available fertilizer, everything needs the support of available fund,” Vice Chairman of Indonesian Representatives, Sultan Bachtiar Najamuddin, said, Wednesday (15/4/2020), as in the official statement to Agricom.id.

That is why he proposed, the policy to minimize the budget in the ministry of agriculture, as the part to prevent the spread of Covid-19 should be reviewed to revoke.

“The agriculture is the important pillar now so that the people’s economy would not be more difficult to fulfill their food. If the budget is minimized, it would influence the capability to provide (numbers of) food,” he said.

For information, President Joko Widodo decided to reduce the numbers of budget in many ministries and non – ministerial institutions in 2020 to minimize the pandemic of Covid-19.

It is regulated by President’s Regulation No. 54 / 2020 about the Change and Detail of National Budget in 2020.

Ministry of agriculture is one of the government instances which the budget would be cut off reaching Rp 3,612 billion. The previous in ministry of agriculture reached Rp 21,055 triliun to be Rp 17,442 billion. (A2)
