Agricom,id, JAKARTA – Director in Duty of Vegetables and Medical Plants, General Directorate of Horticulture, Ministry of Agriculture Sukarman told that during the pandemic of corona virus (Covid-19), the prospect of medical plantation gets better. He mentioned that the areas of medical plantations in Indonesia covered 27.539 hectares (ha) within the total production reaching 640.727 tons.(2019)

"We have allocated the helps to develop the medical plants areas to some regions in Indonesia. It is about to develop the new ones. In the future, we would do this so that the people could get the benefits,” the man within the nick name Karman, said.

He also mentioned that the medical plantations have better influences for there is no side effect if used in the normal doze. It is economic and the material could be planted by ourselves.

“One kind of medical plant could have many advantages. This could be the mainstay as the promising source of living,” he said, as in the official statement to Agricom.id.

Meanwhile, Director of Processing and Marketing of Horticulture, Ministry of Agriculture, Yasid Taufik said that the export chances to the herbal products are good enough. Data from central bureau of statistic revealed that the exports of herbal products reached 16.628 tons or about US$ 31.917.498

“This is a promising business and supported by kinds of materials in our country. We would help to develop the quality and the promotion,” he said.

He also told that Kelompok Wanita Tani Berdikari led by Sudaryati was facilitated to join the Jeddah International Trade Festival in the end of 2019 and the participants were enthusiastic there.

"Ministry of agriculture is helping the certification from Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) for the medicine drinks that the group produced,” he told. (A2)
