Ministry of Agriculture Released the Exports of Agriculture Products to 43 Countries

Agricom.id, JAKARTA - Ministry of agriculture claimed that there were increasing exports in the last one year. The numbers were significant reaching 7,47 percent. This is the good news for the economy of Indonesia namely in the pandemic of corona virus (Covid-19).

"From 2019 to March 2020, our exports increased up to 7,47 percent. This has been running since last year," Head of Badan Karantina Pertanian (Barantan), Ministry of Agriculture, Ali Jamil said when accompanying Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) when releasing the agriculture product exports at nine ports, Thursday (30/4/2020), as in the official written statement to Agricom.id.

Ali thought that the increasing exports were from four mainstay sub sector, they are, the plantation, the horticulture, food plantations, and livestock. Of the four, the increasing reached about 12 billion rupiah.

Based on the agriculture notes, the increasing exports in horticulture reached about 30 percent, the plantations reached about 26 percent, the livestock reached about 16 percent, and the food plantations reached about 14 percent.

He also said that the increasing exports happened for the goods were not in raw materials only but had been processed to be qualified foods that the people in the world like them.

“It means that we have exported the coconut not in fiber only but it is processed to be qualified products in the first place. We are heading to the processing industries now,” he said.

For information the exports were sent from nine ports to 43 countries in Europe and Asia. While the numbers of the agriculture products were about 166 kinds.

In the same time, Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo said that the agriculture is the certain solution to prevent the crisis of corona virus (Covid-19). He suggested the agriculture actors to produce always and do their obligation, which is, to fulfill the domestic food.

“In January to March 2020, the exports reached 100,7 billion rupiah. The agriculture is the certain one namely in this situation,” he ended his words.

The nine ports to export were Lampung, Soekarno Hatta, Semarang, Belawan, Surabaya, Tanjung Priok, Denpasar, Balikpapan, and Makassar. The release was done in online system by sending the electronic certificate from Karantina Pertanian Indonesia to Netherland, and the signing of cooperation between Barantan and Alibaba.com. (A2)
