Agricom.id, JAKARTA – After running within its own idealism, Himpunan Kerukunan Tani Indonesia (HKTI) now unites to support the food sovereignty of Indonesia together with the general directors led by Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL).

Chief of President’s Staff, Moeldoko said that HKTI and Fadzli Zon agreed to unite and develop the agriculture in Indonesia to be strong and think of the farmers.

“We report to Minister Syahrul to what we have achieved and we agreed with Fadli Zon to unite and develop the farmers and agriculture in Indonesia to be stronger, and really think of the farmers and agriculture,” Moeldoko said when meeting the leaders of HKTI in the office of Minister SYL, Wednesday (17/06/2020), as in the official written statement to Agricom.id.

Moeldoko explained that Minister SYL told us to be in synergy and directly involve so that KHTI could do more for the farmers and agriculture in Indonesia.

Besides, HKTI would be more synergy to think of the strategic ways to develop the two.

“In the discussion, in the next 3 to 5 months, we would do the concrete ones in the field maximally,” he said.

Minister SYL told that he is optimist if his side is in synergy with HKTI and could develop the agriculture in Indonesia. He thought that the synergy between ministry of agriculture and HKTI would be the blessing for the country, for the farmers, and the luck to his side.

"Whatever it is, ministry of agriculture as the technical ministry could do well if the infrastructures of agriculture exist. One of the infrastructures is HKTI,” SYL said.

He also mentioned that to mobilize and activate the agriculture better, the agriculture should have social engineering in the functional role from HKTI. It is hoped to support the acceleration of the food power nationally.

Fadzli Zon did hope that HKTI could solve the dualism leadership to make the agriculture of Indonesia go forward.

“The meeting would be followed up to the next. We would end the dualism in HKTI as one stakeholder for ten years.

In the future HKTI could cooperate to make the agriculture better, welfare the farmers. Those are the points. As the strategic partner of the government, this issue would have solution if every side cooperates.

“HKTI as the farmers’ organization which gathers every aspiration from the farmers, we would maintain the future food, namely in the corona virus pandemic,” he said. (A2)
