HIPMI Encouraged the Young Entrepreneurs to do Directly Agriculture Business

Agricom.id, JAKARTA – Chairman of Himpunan Pengusaha Muda Indonesia (BPP HIPMI), Mardani H. Maming encouraged the young entrepreneurs from the millennial generations to directly do the agriculture business.

He thought that the agriculture would have the potential and could save the country from the crisis threat globally. Agriculture is the main sector in the prior level to face the corona virus (Covid-19) pandemic.

“The agriculture is the serious business by taking the young generations to get into and maximize the programs of the government,” he said, Sunday (26/7/2020) as in the official statement to Agricom.id.

He also mentioned that the fast technology and agriculture machine tools development make the business access widely open. Besides, the people could advantage the chance to implement family farming by creating the narrow areas and house yards as the hydroponic and aereponics areas.

“As time goes by within the technology, we could see that there are lots of initiatives in the cities making big scale agriculture in community – base, such as, hydroponic and aereponics,” he said.

“I think that the concept could be done in the crowd population for it only advantages the narrow areas, such as, the house yard. This is a good concept, needs to connect and should be collaborated by the right policy,” he said.

Vice Chairman of BPP HIPMI, Anggawira encouraged the farmers in each region to advantage the technology and information development to increase their production.

“Within the technology and information, the farmers could directly sell their production through the market places.  We would develop the initiatives wider because there are lots of needs as the daily consumption, such as, the animal protein,” he said.

Vice Chairman of Indonesian Chambers and Industry in Trade, Benny Soetrisno said that the agriculture is the concrete important face nationally, namely in the crisis and in the corona virus (Covid-19) pandemic whole over the world.

“For example, from the east to the west, we have coffee. The chocolate is good plantation in South Sulawesi. We also have pepper in Bangka Belitung and it is exported to the world. It means that we have the superior agriculture,” he said.

He also encouraged the young entrepreneurs to support and directly do the business in agriculture. Furthermore Indonesia has kinds of superior commodities that every country does not produce.

In the previous, Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo predicted that in the next two years, the good business to go is in agriculture sector. He told that from the increasing export progress in every single month.

“Based on the export data during the Covid-19, only agriculture hits the progress,” he said.

For information, the agriculture trade balance got surplus reaching Rp 55,09 billion. Of the numbers, the food plantation contributed Rp 52,07 billion, horticulture reached Rp 11,81 billion and livestock gave Rp 20 billion, the plantation commodities gave the most reaching Rp 138, 76 billion.

"The mainstay commodities are the palm oil, rubber, and cocoa. The agriculture exports in 2019 got Rp 400 billion. In the future, we could reach Rp 1000 billion by increasing (the exports) up to 300 percent,” he said. (A2)
