Agricom.id, JAKARTA – The farmers’ exchange rate (FER) in July 2020 significantly increased. The numbers reached 100,09 or increased 0,49 percent compared to FER in the previous. It happened for the farmer’s price index also increased 0,47 percent.
"Besides, NTUP (Nilai Tukar Usaha Rumah Tangga Pertanian) increased 100,53 or 0,28 percent nationally. The numbers were bigger than it in the previous month,” head of Central Bureau of Statistic (CBS), Kecuk Suhariyanto said, as in the official written statement to Agricom.id, Monday (3/9/2020).
He thought FER mostly dominated up to 3,57 percent. This is good because the agriculture sector keeps increasing.
“The increasing FER is the evidence that the government keeps seriously working after in the previous month it decreased,” he said.
On the other hand, he continued, the grain and rice in the milling had the good news. The numbers were seen from 1.629 grain transaction in 28 provinces in July 2020. The dry grain transaction reached 60,28 percent, the milled dry grain reached 20,81 percent, and unqualified grain reached 18,91 percent.
It means that in July 2020 the dry grain transaction in the farmers’ level reached Rp 4.788 per kilogram or increased 1,44 percent, while in the milling, it was Rp 4883 per kilogram or increased 1,32 percent compared to the same quality in the previous month.
“The dry grain in the farmers’ level was Rp 5.451 per kilogram in average or decreased 6,74 percent. In the milling, it was Rp 5.601 per kilogram or decreased 5,99 percent. The unqualified grain in the farmers’ level was Rp 4.387 per kilogram or increased 0,29 percent and in the milling, it was Rp 4.487 per kilogram or increased 0,39 percent," he explained.
For information, the farmers’ exchange rate is the indicator for the farmers’ welfare. It is calculated by using the ratio between the price index that the farmers got and the price index that the farmers paid. Besides the FER, NTUP is also the indicator to determine the farmers’ welfare level from the agriculture business in the whole. (A2)
