Agricom.id, JAKARTA – In the era of 4.0 industry revolution, ministry of agriculture keeps developing the breakthrough of public service well heading to the modern agriculture in digital information technology – based integrated to the internet. The farmers in Indonesia who got the seeds helps know the advantages the qualified seeds through “Aplikasi Barcode/QR Code” that could be downloaded through smart phone.

Director of Seeding, Ministry of Agriculture, Takdir Mulyadi said that ministry of Agriculture through Directorate of Seeding, General Directorate of Food Plantation launched “aplikasi Barcode/QR Code” in smart phone – base and everybody could access to inform the seed distribution well and fast, which covers the latest information of numbers, variety, time, and place in Indonesia.

“The application is needed and profitable because it would be the solution to solve the fake seeds that many take place. If the seeds are false, they would grow bad and many would think that the producers are bad too. By the application, we would like to protect the producers and the farmers who plant the seeds,” he said in Jakarta, Friday (28/8/2020) as in the official statement to Agricom.id.

He also mentioned that the system would increase the quality of effective, efficient, and transparent public service. Ministry of agriculture would guarantee the quality of seeds which are traceable, the stocks, and distribution in our country. The seeds producers who get or do not get the independent certificates should access every seed production and stock through the barcode application/QR Code so that the people could know the seeds and when the seeds are distributed, it would automatically reduce the numbers.

“This is important and very useful for the government to make the policy about the qualified seed procurement in our country,” he said.

General Director of Food Plantation, Ministry of Agriculture, Suwandi said that the launching of barcode application is the implementation of what Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) told. Ministry of agriculture should keep focusing to increase the better public service as the concern of ministry of agriculture to quick response about the fake seeds distribution in the society and would keep the qualified seed well.

“This application is being tested. The infrastructure would be completed to support the barcode/QR Code," he said.

“In 2021, every seed given by the government should use barcode and the people should have the access. That is my target,” he said.

In the previous, Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) instructed his officers to monitor and solve the agricultural issues, such as, the fake seeds. The realization is the ways to optimize the seeding information.

“The seeding information system is important to increase the quality, quantity, and efficiency of natural resource usage in the digital era,” SYL said.

In the other place, representative of PT. BISI, Dodi really supported the application.

It would be easy for us to control the seed distribution, namely to know the numbers of stocks and what would be expired.  

“The system would remind the seed validity in our company, help to maintain, and increase the seed quality,” he said.

The representative of PT. Syngenta, Agustin said that the system would increase trust and sustainability of seeding business because the information needed would be available completed by the identity.

“The system would provide the transparent information that the seed producers and the farmers need,” he said. (A2)
