Agricom.id, JAKARTA - Ministry of agriculture emphasized its commitment to struggle for the price poultry of the traditional breeders to be better or profitable. Ministry of agriculture guaranteed the traditional livestock by giving helps and development.
"Ministry of agriculture led by Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo would keep struggling for the traditional breeders. Until now, ministry of agriculture keeps struggling so that the poultry price of the breeders gets better,” Director of Animals’ Production and Breeding, General Directorate of Animals Health and Livestock (AHL), Ministry of Agriculture, Sugiono said when getting the hearing of the broiler breeders in the Hall D, Agriculture, Jakarta, Tuesday ( 1/09/20), as in the official statement to Agricom.id.
He also explained that until now ministry of agriculture keeps following up the breeders’ aspirations. Just like Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo instructed, ministry of agriculture is consistent to struggle for what the breeders faced. The regulation of Minister of Agriculture No.32 / 2017 about Provision, Distribution, and Supervision of the Broiler, and Egg Consumption was arranged to protect the independent traditional breeders.
“The Regulation No. 32/2017 was arranged to cover every aspect. There is no more quote and every integrator would get its parts in the downstream (sector). Th government until now keeps struggle for the breeders’ welfare. We are serious and consistent to follow up their aspirations,” he said.
He also mentioned that ministry of agriculture has made the work programs by December 2020. In the programs, ministry of agriculture through General Directorate of AHL would prioritize the small scale – breeders.
"Ministry of agriculture would do anything to defend the breeders. We are and keep doing the best. But it would spend some time so that the traditional and independent breeders gets profits,” he said.
In the same chance, the independent traditional breeder of Bandung, Muchlis said that ministry of agriculture always responds well to what the breeders complained. But he kept hoping that ministry of agriculture could strictly put sanction to the big (company) breeders within integrated business if they violate the regulation.
“We still urged that the living bird (poultry) should be more than the government’s buying price and the integrators should not master our markets. Please, there should be sanction if they violate,” he said. (A2)
