Agricom.id, KEBUMEN – Regent of Kebumen, KH Yazid Mahfudz and Head of Agriculture and Food Agency, District of Kebumen, Tri Haryono did paddy harvest in Village of Caruban, Sub district of Adimulyo, District of Kebumen, Central Java Province within Inpari 42. Yazid told that based on the paddy harvest in October 2019 - August 2020 the production in the district reached 282.260 tons of dry grain. The bulbs harvest from Gapoktan Karya Dadi Utama in Village of Caruban reached 83,2 quintal per hectare
The rice needs for the people in District of Kebumen per year reached 134.017,05 tons. The rice is 257.546,45 tons and this year it would be surplus 123.529,4 tons.
In his speech, Yazid told that the new planting in Kebumen in October 2019 to August 2020 reached 73.984 hectares. The harvest in the same period reached 51.319 hectares, within the productivity 55 quintal per hectare of dry grain. The production reached 282.260 tons of dry grain. The people’s need on rice per year reached 134.017,05 tons. The available rice would be 257.546,45 tons. “We are surplus about 123.529,4 tons of rice,” he said, as in the official statement to Agricom.id.
He and the other leaders did plant crops in the new harvested areas and tried to operate the thresher machine in the paddy field.
“Alhamdulillah, the harvest is good and we could help the food security in District of Kebumen,” he said. He is grateful with the harvest when Covid-19 still haunts because the food security is the serious issue (to face. “We should be gratefull because Kebumen is surplus still,” he said
In other place, General Director of Food Plantation, Ministry of Agriculture), Suwandi hoped that District of Kebumen takes part to multiply the paddy production. Ministry of agriculture would always support what it needs. “It is hoped that every region could prove their commitment and contribute to the people,” he said and asked for the farmers to get and use kredit usaha rakyat (KUR) through gerakan komando strategis penggilingan padi (kostraling) to make the grain price better.
This is the same with what Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) told that food production should keep running and the farmers should be the front guards in the situation. But they should maintain their health and work carefully. (A2)
