Agricom.id, JAKARTA – From the Rencana Kerja Pemerintah (RKP) for 2021, the government would focus to social reformation development. It has something to do with the impacts of Covid-19 pandemic.
To support the plans and the budget to the programs in agriculture, Commission IV, Indonesian Legislators did hearing with the echelon I, Ministry of Agriculture to discuss the explanation and description of Work Plans of Ministry of Agriculture 2021 and the budget needed to execute. It was done in the room of Commission IV, Indonesian Legislators, Thursday (10/09) as in the official statement to Agricom.id.
Chairman of Commission IV, Sudin reminded that the programs of ministry of agriculture in 2021 should be done in a whole. “The programs should not be centric directorate but should be re-allocated to the activities in regional or national scale. It is better if the plans start from the activities that farmers need of,” he said.
He thought that the prior programs should be the bases as the end of the budget. The hearing would be possible to change the budget which was agreed on together.
He also reminded the officers in echelon I to notice the education and vocational training to develop the human resources in agriculture. “The education and vocational trainings for the farmers should massively run because it was revealed that the workers in agriculture might be about 40 million men only but the trainings were not much to do,” he said.
Knowing the suggestion, General Secretary of Ministry of Agriculture, Momon Rusmono told what his side did by the end of August 31st, 2020 in the first place. His side spent 56,93 percent of the total budget in the ministry reaching Rp 14,06 billion. It means that the ministry spent for about Rp 8 billion. The acceleration program done in the outstanding position in the field did contract which made the budget spent reaching 66,14 percent.
He also told that the Work Plans and Budget of Ministry of Agriculture in 2021 would be the responsibility of the ministry for the food of Indonesian citizens. His instance would focus to the mainstay commodities, such as, the food plantation, paddy, corn; the horticulture, such as, vegetables, fruits, medicine plantation, floriculture; livestock, such as, ruminants and poultry; the plantation commodities, such as, cocoa, rubber, coconut, sago, pepper, nutmeg, and sugarcane.
“The mainstay commodities would realize the food security for the people of Indonesia. Some could be realized to fulfill the industrial needs and to exports. To realize the main programs, it needs to increase the production, additional value, better quality, cultivation, management, and responsibility that would be handed over to the technical general directorate,” Momon said.
