Agricom.id, JAKARTA – Chairman of Ikatan Alumni Fakultas Pertanian (IKA Faperta), Universitas Hasanuddin (UNHAS) in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, dan Bekasi (Jabodetabek), Arifin Tasrif supported ministry of agriculture to provide food and increase the exchange in the Covid-19 pandemic

He told that when meeting Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo in the office of Ministry of Agriculture Indonesia, South Jakarta, Thursday (17/9/2020), as in the official statement to Agricom.id.

"We do appreciate the success of ministry of agriculture to maintain the food and increase the economy nationally in the Covid-19 pandemic. This would have something to do with the people,” he said.

Knowing that, Head of Public Information and Relation, Ministry of Agriculture, Kuntoro Boga Andri told that the agricultural exports in August 2020, based on the central bureau of statistic, reached about 1,04 percent (Y on Y).

"When many sectors decreased, the agriculture positively developed. We need to maintain it by making good cooperation with other sides,” he said.

Back to Arifin, he told some opinions from Faperta UNHAS to Minister Syahrul to develop the agriculture.

"Alhamdulillah, Minister Syahrul did welcome the meeting. We got the advices and leads to maintain the success and really contribute to the agricultural development,” he said.

He thought that the downstream sectors in the agriculture need more to make the additional values and competition in the international markets. That is why he hoped that ministry of agriculture could maximize the chances to increase the agriculture.

“Minister Syahrul gives the space if the alumni of UNHAS want to do much to increase the production to increase the farmers’ economy in the villages and the alumni play the real roles for the society,” he said.

He also planned to tell the results of the meeting to the chairman of IKA Faperta UNHAS and could prove the realization.

“We would tell the results of the meeting – what to follow up to contribute to develop the agriculture and could be the agents of change, to be the supporters, tell what the people’s needs to ministry of agriculture in the villages," he said. (A2)
