Agricom.id, JAKARTA – Commission IV, Indonesian Legislators confirmed the budget in ministry of agriculture in the work plan and budget of the ministry/institution in 2021 for about Rp 21,83 billion. The budget would be for the work plans to accelerate the economic recovery and social reformation.

“Commission IV agreed the budget for ministry of agriculture for about Rp 21,83 billion," Vice Chairman of Commission IV, Indonesian Legislators, Dedi Mulyadi said, Monday (21/9/2020), as in the official statement to Agricom.id.

He said that the budget composition would be divided per echelon covering the general secretariat reaching Rp 1,7 billion, the general inspectorate reaching Rp 164 billion, the general directorate of food plantation reaching Rp 4,91 billion and the general directorate of horticulture reaching Rp 1,14 billion.

The budget would be for general directorate of plantation covering Rp 1,61 billion, general directorate of livestock and animal’s health covering Rp 2,13 billion, general directorate of agriculture infrastructure reaching Rp 5,27 billion, badan ketahanan pangan reaching Rp 767 billion, and badan karantina pertanian reaching Rp 1,11 billion.

Knowing this, Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) told that the focus of ministry of agriculture nationally is to accelerate the economic durability to get the fair and qualified progress.

He also told that there are two prior programs which connect each other with the main priority, such as, to increase the access of availability and food consumption quality, and also the enhancement of the additional value, work chance, investment in real sectors and industries.

“We could reach many things. I hope that ministry of agriculture and commission IV should be in synergy to make the agriculture of Indonesia better,” he said.

The other member of Commission IV, Indonesian Legislators, Suhardi Duka told that the budget which was agreed should be well implemented. He mentioned that this could be seen from the increasing the farmers exchange rate for years which directly made the farmers’ economy better in Indonesia.

“The budget has been given to the farmers. We have to make sure that they should not be in trouble again. Whatever they need, we have to provide it for the interests nationally,” he mentioned. (A2)
