Agricom.id, JAKARTA – The agriculture is important for our nation because the economic progress, for example, would depend on the good agriculture. Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) emphasized that when doing the same harvest pekarangan pangan lestari (P2L) which 34 provinces virtually joined in Jakarta, Thursday (24/9/2020). “The agriculture is the sector which did progress among others. This showed that the agriculture is the mainstay in the pandemic like now,” SYL said. as in the official statement to Agricom.id.

He also took every side to help each other to make the agriculture in Indonesia better.. He thought that the pandemic is the moment of consolidation for every related side, starting from the central to the region.

“I take you, dear sir, the agricultural actors to make the better cooperation and collaboration to make the agriculture as the same interest,” he said.

In the same spot, Head of Food Security Agency, Ministry of Agriculture, Agung Hendriadi said that farming in the (house) yard is one strategy to maintain the food procurement in the pandemic.

He also said that through P2L program, the people could fulfill kinds of food and nutrients from the yard.

“The food needs, such as, the healthy and nutritious vegetables in the pandemic would be important to support the body immunity and it could be from the yard,” he said.

The same harvest of P2L is the series of the National Agriculture Day 2020 by proposing the theme “Pertanian Andalan Nasional di tengah Pandemi Covid-19”.

In the event, three best groups of P2L were announced, they were, Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Karya Tani, Purbalingga, Central Java; KWT Sumber Rejeki, Cirebon, West Java; and KWT Melati, Barru, South Sulawesi. (A2)
