Agricom.id, BINTAN – Minister of Trade, Agus Suparmanto; Coordinator Minister in Economy, Airlangga Hartarto; Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo; Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita released the agricultural exports in Bintan Industrial Estate (BIE) Bintan, Kepulauan Riau, Saturday (26/9). The commodities which were exported were the processed products of coconut, such as, coconut milk to German for about 70 thousand kilograms and Rp1,6 billion; and coconut powder to India for about 108 thousand kilograms and Rp 1,2 billion.
“Ministry of trade keeps encouraging the export commodities in Indonesia which have additional values. It is hoped that this would support the businessmen in Kepulauan Riau to the same,” he said, as in the official statement to Agricom.id.
He also thought that the agricultural commodities are the mainstay of Indonesia which run well in the Covid-19 pandemic. “It is hoped, this moment could run always and increase to maintain the trade balance,” he said.
Minister Airlangga told that the exports were 100 percent from Indonesia and have the added values. “We do appreciate the exporters because they could do exports in the Covid-19 pandemic. This should be replicated in other regions,” he said.
In the visit to Bintan, Agus also attended the campaign, Indonesia Care proposed by ministry of tourism and creative economy. Besides, he also saw the launching of Program Batam, Bintan, Karimun (BBK) Murah held by Indonesian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Kepulauan Riau, and saw the Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus (KEK) Galang Batang.
